american sign language
I got into sign language kind of by accident. I was first exposed to it through the TV show "Switched at Birth", but I can't remember how I originally heard of it.
I had been watching that show for a couple months when a friend of mine told me she had signed up for an ASL class. At the last minute, I signed up too (since it's usually fun to do that sort of thing with a friend). That class was in the fall of 2014.
To date, I've completed levels 101 and 102 of ASL. I had signed up for 103 this summer (in the form of a one week, full-immersion class rather than 3 hours one a week for 10 weeks) but the class was cancelled. I do still plan to continue learning as I really enjoy ASL.
